Model for a Civilization VI mod adding al-Andalus (Islamic Iberia) into the game.
Clothes were made in Marvelous Designer then retopologized in Houdini
I took this as an opportunity to experiment with procedural animation and rigging. While the base rig for the character and the book he holds were made in Blender. The rig for the cloth elements (the sleeves of his robe and the bottom of his robes), were generated in Houdini.
The model was then animated in Blender then brought over to Houdini to perform the cloth simulations to drive the bones in the sleeves and robes.
